Canadian Immigration Integration Project (CIIP) Program
Through pilot offices in China, India and the Philippines, the CIIP aims to help skilled workers prepare for labour market integration in
Canada while completing the final stages of the immigration process in their country of origin.
The project, which is managed by the Association of Canadian Community Colleges, is funded by the
Foreign Credential Recognition program at Human Resources and Social Development Canada (HRSDC).
The goal is to develop a model for helping newcomers prepare effectively for integration before
their arrival in Canada. For more information on the CIIP, please click here.
Internationally-Educated Engineers Qualification Bridging (IEEQB) Program
The IEEQB Program is a new program offered by the Faculty of Engineering, Architecture and Science,
Ryerson University, and Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO). The program is funded by the Ontario Government and the
Government of Canada.
This program has been developed specifically for International Engineering
Graduates (IEGs) to provide them with an opportunity to meet the academic requirements for
professional engineering licensure in Ontario. For more information on the program, please

The Canadian Foundation for Economic Education (CFEE) offers an online resource designed to showcase
the experiences of previous immigrants who have gone through the process of credential assessment
and recognition to earn their professional designation (P.Eng.). Through video vignettes, they share
their stories, their challenges, and their successes with the goal of helping newcomers to Canada
learn more about the processes, and tools, resources and services that are available to enable them
to integrate more effectively into Canada's labour force and build a successful future in their
chosen field.

Engineering Qualification Recognition Model
The engineering Qualification Recognition model (eQRm) is a model describing a process by which international engineering graduates,
holding engineering credentials from outside of Canada, can achieve licensure as professional engineers and successfully pursue an
engineering career.
This 120-slide presentation supports a one-day workshop on the eQRm program. It provides a comprehensive overview of the origins,
mechanics and outcomes of eQRm-type programs in Canada.
The eQRm Framework: Opportunities for Establishing Additional eQRm-type Programs in Canada
This document serves as a detailed reference to assist provincial and territorial engineering regulators, universities and the
engineering industry in developing eQRm-type programs to assist international engineering graduates in achieving licensure as
professional engineers and in pursuing an engineering career in Canada.
Implementation Framework
This document provides a detailed description of the curriculum framework for the Working in Canada seminar. It addresses teaching and learning considerations, provides a course overview, describes the subject matter covered in each of 26 classroom sessions, and includes forms, assignments, sample texts and other materials in an extensive appendix.
